Assistive Medical Calculator for healthcare workers to effectively and accurately triage patients.

This app is a free medical calculator based on the South African Triage Scale and can be used in training or as an assistive calculator by healthcare workers, as and when required.

Triage is the critical process used to effectively prioritize patients and if implemented correctly has been shown to decrease mortality.

This becomes especially important within developing countries wherein the health system is further strained by the growing burden of disease and increased trauma, and lacks the relevant and adequate human and technological capacity and support to effectively manage the environment.

The Open Medicine Project identified a critical need in this regard and developed an integrated solution for health facilities, which implement the South African Triage Scale (SATS). This solution encompasses the printing of triage summary data into a paper based record using any wifi enabled printer.
